Welcome to Sprouting Speech

Sprouting Speech is the Preschool Speech and Language Program for young children and their families who live in Renfrew County. The program is in place to help children from birth to the beginning of their Senior Kindergarten year who have, or at risk for, difficulties in any area of communication. Services are funded by the Government of Ontario's Ministry of Children and Youth Services and are provided at no charge to families.

Sprouting Speech provides services for children who are late talkers, or have speech sound difficulties. The program also provides support for children who have social, emotional or cognitive diffuculties which affect their ability to communicate and learn.

Children begin learning how to communicate from the first day of life.  Delays in speech and language development may have an effect on communication, learning and behavior.  Early identification and treatment can prevent communication difficulties now and in the future.
